R&D Project Assistant (M/F/X) at Amyl Therapeutics
To support its growth, the biotech company Amyl Therapeutics is lookingfor a Project assistant in the Research and Development team, based in theLegia Park (Liège):

Your mission
As a R&D Project assistant, you conduct the follow-up of a drug development program inside the R&D team, under the oversight of the Project manager, in the field of amyloid-mediated neurodegenerative disorders. In this role, you will be required to stay abreast of cutting-edge literature to provide scientific input with internals and externals related to the project. From project planning to execution, you supervise research activities with third parties but also with scientists in the team.

Your responsibilities

  • You build the project overview with the Project manager: planning, risks, options and strategy
  • You provide support to the Project manager and become the subject matter expert for several activities related to your project: drug candidate expression, optimization studies, method development
  • You lead the science and the TC meetings for collaborative and outsourced activities
  • You design scientific experiments, review Lab team work and interpret complex data sets
  • You ensure timely data collection and reporting, including statistical analyses, in the scope of your project

Required qualifications
PhD in Sciences or equivalent acquired through professional experience (Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry or Biotechnology). Experience with antibody evolution/maturation is a plus.

  • Ideally with experience of 1-2 year in biotech/industry working with external CROs
  • Demonstrated knowledge in designing early stage or preclinical studies, in vitro or in vivo, with the following techniques:
    • Production of recombinant proteins (E. coli/CHO) or monoclonal antibodies
    • Protein characterization: ligand binding (BLI,SPR), protein aggregation by spectrofluorimetry, SDS-PAGE, WB, DLS…
    • Immunoassays (ELISA, protein arrays) and cellular assays
    • Pharmacokinetics in rodents/transgenic animals
  • Fluent in English, oral and written. Proficient in French.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with internal/external partners
  • Experience in statistics
  • Experience in project management
  • Good computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, eLab, Origin)
  • Accountability and respect for deadlines
